About The Role

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing all human resources functions of Share Corporation and its 100% owned subsidiary, Athea Laboratories. Duties include recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations, separation and offboarding processes, leaves of absence, payroll, compensation, and special projects. This position reports to the CFO and supervises a team of three. In this role, you’ll be a key driver of our people strategy, supporting a diverse workforce across multiple states.


This Human Resources Manager position is available due to an upcoming retirement, and we’re offering a unique opportunity for the right candidate to be mentored directly by the outgoing HR leader, ensuring a smooth transition and deep understanding of our culture, processes, and people.

 Successful Candidates Will Have:
 
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Deep knowledge of multi-state federal and state employment laws and regulations, as well as pending legislation.
  • Track record of ensuring consistent application of HR policies across all levels of an organization.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks for multiple time-sensitive projects.  
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, think strategically, and work collaboratively with others.  
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Comfortable working with numbers and accounting to reconcile reports.
  • Solid MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). PowerPoint, and/or other presentation media.
  • Tech-savvy and process improvement focused.

Essential Job Duties:
 
  • Monitor regulatory issues and ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations within the 35 states our team is located in.
  • Administer the self-funded employee benefit and welfare plans, ensuring ERISA compliance.
  • Responsible for keeping health and welfare benefit plans up to date and communicating plan changes to employees annually.
  • Serve as the point of contact for employee benefit plan questions and inquiries. Escalate to the third-party administrator as necessary and follow up to ensure resolution.
  • Responsible for ensuring benefit file feed data integrity and working directly with the carriers to resolve any issues.
  • Verify payments to carriers are reconciled and made on a timely basis.
  • Collaborate with senior management to engage in the RFP process and selection of insurance brokers, ensuring the best option for the company and the employees.
  • Resolve employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, harassment investigations, wage concerns, employee disputes, attendance issues, and general questions.
  • Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Assist management in the termination process, ensuring the correct data has been gathered and company policies have been followed.
  • Oversee annual performance review process and management appraisals.
  • Monitor the recruitment process for all levels of candidates: executive, exempt, non-exempt, and production employees.
  • Complete special projects such as section 125 testing, 401k administration and audit requests, board and stockholder meetings and preparation, stock transfers and maintenance.
  • Answer human resources questions and concerns from employees, including remote workers throughout the country.

Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • PHR/SPHR certification is preferred.  
  • Multi-state federal and state employment law knowledge is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of benefit and retirement plans, including state and federal regulatory compliance.
  • Operational knowledge of payroll policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now HRIS is preferred.
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
